Yes, I’m a geek.
In other news (and because I can't bear to leave something so whiny and emo as the top post on my blog!), I was browsing theknot.com for inspiration this afternoon and had the — horrible, awful, absolutely will-not-do-this — idea of naming tables at the wedding reception after zones or instances in Azeroth, as a not-so subtle nod to Where We Met.
... Don't look at me like that. Of course I'm not going to do it!
But I have to confess: the idea did occur to me. >.>

You could have the five people who came because you had to invite them sit at the ToC 25 table!

If you’re looking for other wedding ideas that aren’t quite so “omg it’s YOUR DAY and YOU SHOULD BE A PRINCESS so SPEND LOTS OF $$$” check out indiebride.com. It was really helpful when I was planning my wedding and some of the women who post have absolutely fabulous ideas. Plus it seemed like there was always someone with a recommendation for a local vendor if you’re staring at the phone book totally lost.
And really, I love the idea of naming tables after zones/instances in WoW. You could even use pictures to identify the table; just go into photoshop and play around with some of the effects so it’s not immediately recognizable as something out of a video game. Hell, some of those effects make real places and pictures look like they’re random art that someone created.

That’s an /awesome/ site! Thanks for the link.
I have to admit, I like the idea of taking a sweeping panorama shot of Thousand Needles, for example, and naming the table thusly. No one who doesn’t play will be any wiser, and I found a fantastic GIMP tutorial online for fantasy-ing up images … >.>

Well, that reminded me of something. If trying to weave it in covertly is something you’re considering, then I am reminded of this post, which showed pictures of real world areas that looked like they inspired zones in wow.

Tentatively? December 18, 2010. It depends on the venue though.

hahaha you could always put tables with ‘Tis only a model’, ‘Help help! I’m being repressed’ and ’tis only a flesh wound’

Oh, you totally should, even as an in-joke. Match personalities to tables, the whole bit.
That batty old uncle? Dalaran.
The spacey cousin? Emerald Dream.
The annoying in-laws? Twisting Nether.

I think that’d be funny (and cooler than things most people do).

Just go for it! It would be amazing.
As has been said, you could have such great fun matching people up with places, and it would definitely make things special

Subtly color code the tables and puit yourself at the legendary table and people you don’t like at the vendor bait grey table…

Do it!
A friend of mine and her sister were HEAVY Ragnarok fans. The sister met her boyfriend in game. Moved close, they dated. Then he proposed IN GAME.
There’s a cool pic with 10000 whispers saying, ‘Say yes!’
Do it! Don’t hide from geekness
