Oh no, they'll still bitch. Or well, some will. There's always at least that ONE, you know?

Though come to think of it, I can't name one of our healers who would c-wait. No. I take that back. There's one. Damned by my own words!

But certainly by you taking your turn, you've taken a lot of the weight from any complaints anyone may utter.

Welcome to the strange world of Having Too Many Healers (though I think we beat your numbers, since I think we have almost as many as you in priests alone...ha)

I completely understand about the manual effort thing but i disagree with your theoretical view. First off the "best" players would have the same oppertunity to go to standby and you would only get extra EP on fights that you didn't participate in, and since i am pretty sure all of us would rather be in there hacking away at the boss then warming the bench this is rewarding people who are willing to step aside every once in a while. So it is basically trading the experience of the fight, and the chance to roll on the loot (and get the emblems) for a small EP bonus to help procure future gear.

I'm not sure >100% EP for standby is the way to go. From a practical standpoint, it would involve a lot of manual effort to award, and from a theoretical standpoint ... well, I can't see rewarding a standby raider who sits occasionally more EP than a core raider. It would feel too much like punishing our best players for /being/ our best players.

"If the guild leader is the first to ride the bench, then surely others will think twice before complaining about it, right?"

Really? Ye think so? :P

Well actually, amongst the healing team, perhaps this isn't quite so much an overly optimistic hope as it first sounds? Maybe?

I dunno. I'm very glad either way though that this is now the problem, rather than having to call 25s on account of insufficient numbers.

My guild has done this on many occasions and it works very well. We also have a pretty tight knit healing core and always have someone willing to step out for another person.

So any comments on my increased standby EP idea? Does it have feasibility? is it completely garbage? associated problems?

-Bob2

P.S. Please forgive my pushyness, I am simply attempting to find distractions from studying for Histology which i have to write tomorrow morning. IMHO microscopes are evil.

I like the idea of rotating myself. Especially if there are one or two boss fights that a certain player needs for that certain elusive piece of loot. It would take more time, and probably some weighted decision-making, but it sounds the fairest. Maybe have two or three options and put a poll on the site?

Brainstorming is fun.
C++ is not.
